The Perfect Girl

When you walk into a room,
you draw people’s eyes toward you.
They look at you with envy,
they want to be you or they want to be with you;

They see you laughing,
and wish to be as happy as you.
But they don’t know
that this laughter of yours hides a million secrets;

They don’t know that you cry everyday
because you feel you are not enough,
They don’t know that you slit your skin,
just to feel something.
All they see is the girl with the perfect smile,
the girl who pretends that everything is all right;

You hide your pain with a thousand masks,
you hide it because you don’t want to be a burden on them.
They only see a perfect girl, tall, thin and fitting the image,
They don’t see that you little girl, are breaking on the inside.
